RULES

This year, we're creating Master Links for each fandom. When leaving prompts, please put it under the right canon! If in a compilation canon, please leave the important details!

To leave a prompt: leave one prompt per comment, with FANDOM: CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP in the subject line and your prompt in the body.

To leave a fill: reply to the comment in question. Please use the subject line of your comment to label your work: TITLE (if relevant), FANDOM, CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP, RATING (ANY KINKS, WARNINGS, FLAGS).

There should be kissing! All kinds of kisses are welcome: gen, shippy, smutty, chaste, familial, friendly, angry, happy! We’re pretty open to anything you want to call kissing. We are fans of all of it.

Fanart, fanfiction, drabbles, doodles, live action movies -- whatever you want to supply, we’d like to have it.

Be kind to others regarding character or ship choices and prompts. This should be fun for everyone!

Prompt early, prompt often, and leave as many as you want.

FINAL FANTASY KISS BATTLE 2013

We will be running the Kissing Battle on Dreamwidth only. There are two main reasons for this: 1) Dreamwidth’s comment limit is huge, allowing for longer kissing masterpieces; and 2) Dreamwidth still supports subject lines for comments, which are vital to a meme like the Kiss Battle. However, the Battle is open to everyone. Feel free to participate with your Dreamwidth (account creation is invite-free right now~!), your Livejournal or other OpenID account (see here if you want to set up an OpenID), or anonymously.

A/N: ...um, somehow I missed the "OGC" tag, and this is set post-TAY. I thought I'd go ahead and share anyway, on the chance it would be welcome.)

Cecil is already asleep in their bed when Rosa comes in from the bath; it’s no wonder, after a day of wrangling Baron’s court politics.

Looking at him, asleep on his side, one arm flung out and his hair falling over his face along with the moonlight from the high window, her heart twists with tenderness. The last son of the moon, she thinks, and the moonlight flatters him and frames him, gentle on his features in a way that the harshness of sunlight is not, reminding her that he is, however slightly, alien to this world.

A shadow falls behind her, and with it two hands onto her shoulders; she relaxes into the familiar touch. “You’re late,” she says, her voice barely a breath so as not to wake the sleeping Cecil.

Kain’s breath is warm on her hair. “I didn’t want to be seen--- the last thing the court needs right now is a scandal.”

“Oh, I think some of the ministers--- the more sensible ones, at least--- would be relieved to know that we’ve settled things among us to our mutual satisfaction,” Rosa says, leaning back against him.

“Hmph.” Kain’s breath stirs her hair. “It seems as though I should have risked it, if this is all the welcome I get.”

“Oh hush--- I’m still awake, after all.” She turns in his arms, loving the way his dragoon’s armor blends with the darkness--- as perfectly as Cecil’s skin blends with the moonlight--- the shock of his skin and hair the only light in the tableau he presents. “Come to bed, love.”

Kain is still sleeping the next morning when Rosa’s finished dressing, despite the sunlight streaming in through the high window. It cradles him, as the moonlight did Cecil, setting off skin tanned by years of exposure on Mount Ordeals (her heart still twists to think of it) and turning his blond hair to spun gold on the pillow.

Cecil has long since gone about his duties, so she is the only witness to the spectacle, the sheer male beauty of him--- as much a creature of sun and of earth as Cecil is of the lunar light and the moon itself.

She knows that a kiss will wake him, and that he needs the rest (years on Mount Ordeals, and Cecil has told her enough that she can imagine the rest of it, though Kain will never speak of it), so she doesn’t indulge herself.

But she goes about her duties for the day with a smile on her face, and lets the court wonder nonetheless.

She knows what she can look forward to, tonight and all the nights after, after all. The sun and the moon, both hers for the asking.

*tiny happy squeaky noises*

I always think that these three as adults should be just made of cute together--- they've worked out of the worst of their shit, separately and together, and even if there are rough edges here and there, they've settled into a space they can share with each other. (...okay, now I'm going to have to torture myself with trying to beat TAY, which I ragequit after Kain and Rosa's shared dungeon ATE MY SOUL about three times running. Sigh.)
