2013 KISS BATTLE!
RULES
- This year, we're creating Master Links for each fandom. When leaving prompts, please put it under the right canon! If in a compilation canon, please leave the important details!
- To leave a prompt: leave one prompt per comment, with FANDOM: CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP in the subject line and your prompt in the body.
- To leave a fill: reply to the comment in question. Please use the subject line of your comment to label your work: TITLE (if relevant), FANDOM, CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP, RATING (ANY KINKS, WARNINGS, FLAGS).
- There should be kissing! All kinds of kisses are welcome: gen, shippy, smutty, chaste, familial, friendly, angry, happy! We’re pretty open to anything you want to call kissing. We are fans of all of it.
- Fanart, fanfiction, drabbles, doodles, live action movies -- whatever you want to supply, we’d like to have it.
- Be kind to others regarding character or ship choices and prompts. This should be fun for everyone!
- Prompt early, prompt often, and leave as many as you want.
- Prompts can be filled multiple times!
- To leave a blitzkrieg kiss: If you have something but no one has prompted it yet, blitzkiss away! Just reply to the comment for your fandom, and make sure you use the subject line to label your work.
- Be sure to check back often -- new kissing action could be showing up everywhere!
- Spread the word! Tell your friends!

FINAL FANTASY KISS BATTLE 2013
We will be running the Kissing Battle on Dreamwidth only. There are two main reasons for this: 1) Dreamwidth’s comment limit is huge, allowing for longer kissing masterpieces; and 2) Dreamwidth still supports subject lines for comments, which are vital to a meme like the Kiss Battle. However, the Battle is open to everyone. Feel free to participate with your Dreamwidth (account creation is invite-free right now~!), your Livejournal or other OpenID account (see here if you want to set up an OpenID), or anonymously.
Have fun! Get smoochin'!

FFVI/FFXII: Locke/Balthier
Booty call. Of course, with the definition of 'booty' being:
1. spoil taken from an enemy in war; plunder; pillage.
2. something that is seized by violence and robbery.
3. any prize or gain.
SPOILS; FFVI/FFXII: Locke/Balthier; G
Locke takes a step back, a smirk playing across his lips. "I don't know what you're talking about." The ring -- a plain platinum band -- grows warm in his fist. He keeps both hands behind his back.
"I think you do," Balthier says, and he comes closer.
Locke backs up into the wall. Nowhere to go, now -- except if he turned and ran. That would mean admitting guilt. More importantly, it would mean turning his back on Balthier. "It's not yours," Locke says.
Balthier smiles. "It's not yours, either."
"So it's no one's. Seems to me like it's ripe for the taking."
"And you took it."
Balthier is right in front of him now; Locke has to look up at him. "And you want it back."
"No, that's not what I want."
And Locke knows now, he knows -- but he makes Balthier work for it. "Then why are you pestering me?"
Balthier leans over, planting one hand against the wall on either side of Locke's head. When he speaks, Locke can feel the warmth of his breath. "Because I want you to know that I know you stole it." He licks his bottom lip. "You th--"
Locke kisses him before he can say the word.

FFV/VI: Faris/Locke
[Inspired by this, which I did not see as intended at all.]
"Between Pirates and Thieves", FFV/VI: Faris/Locke, G
Her client had a reputation as a thief, with the stickiest fingers in three continents. And yet, he did not seem like the typical money-hungry, get-rich-quick lubber, and he did not like to be called a thief.
The only sure bond of trust between a pirate and a thief was gold, and Faris’ passenger paid half the fee in advance. Any other pirate would have taken the client’s fee, sailed them to the treasure spot, then snatch the treasure away and slit the fool’s throat. That wasn’t Faris’ style—she had too much integrity, and the reputation of missing passengers would be bad for business.
Besides, something about Faris’ passenger intrigued her. He seemed haunted, gazing intensely over the bow towards their destination.
“So,” Faris casually leaned against the railing, “what kind o’ treasure are we searchin’ for? Gold? Jewels? A legendary blade?”
“I’m not exactly sure,” Locke the “treasure hunter” said. “If I told you exactly, you probably would never have let me on your ship.”
Faris laughed, “Laddie, I’ve heard many a wild fish tale in my day and I have never said no to an adventure!”
Locke remained solemn, “What if I told you this treasure may have the power to bring back the dead?”
Faris raised her eyebrows. “Might I ask…?”
Locke said nothing, instead fingered a ring on a silver chain around his neck. The ring looked too small to fit on his finger, and there was a very pretty stone set in.
“Well then,” Faris nodded, suddenly feeling a little dryness in her throat, “We best be hopin’ it’s there.”
***
“It HAS to be here!” Locke was beside himself, pounding on the map laid out on the table! “I had this map verified! I’ve had the most experienced mariners check its co-ordinates!”
“Laddie,” Faris said calmly, “I’m sorry, but accordin’ to yer chart, yer mountain is under the sea, deep under the sea!”
“Could we be off by a few miles?” Locke was desperate. “Could our co-ordinates be wrong?”
“Nay, laddie,” Faris shook her head. “We are not wrong. This be the place, unless ye have somethin’ that will dive underwater.”
Locke sank to the cabin floor, “I’ve been had. I’m sorry, Captain.” He ran his hand through his hair, pulling off his bandana. “I’ve wasted your time.”
Faris shook her head, putting a hand on his shoulder, “No ye didn’t. Perhaps there be more to this map than we know, but we don’t have the resources to figure it out right now. C’mon, I’ll take ye to whatever port ye want to go.”
As the ship pulled into the harbor, Locke disembarked and turned to the captain, “I owe you the other half of your fee.” He began to dig into his pouch, but Faris stopped him.
“If ye find out more about this treasure, come find me,” Faris said, and gave Locke a kiss on the cheek. “I’ll collect my fee then.”
Locke looked surprised by the peck on the cheek, and then smiled with a flash of comprehension. “We’ll keep this just between us treasure hunters, right?”
“Aye,” Faris tipped her hat. “Good luck, Locke!”

Locke really needs a break. And a hug.
And a galleon full of ice cream. Get on that, Faris.Re: "Between Pirates and Thieves", FFV/VI: Faris/Locke, G

Challenge (FFV/FFVI: Faris/Daryl, SFW)
"A duel," you repeat. "If yer gonna talk about my ship that way, let's see if you'll stand behind what y'say."
"What, by fighting you?" She laughed and slid off of the barstool, surprisingly steady for the number of ales you've already seen her drinking. She must've had one hell of a constitution. "I don't see why that's necessary. All I said was that there was no way anyone's ship could beat mine in a fair race."
"An' I take issue," you say, "so duel me an' show me you ain't just talkin'."
"And I say that if you want me to prove that I'm not lying - which I believe is what you're trying to say - then I should accept your challenge, and we should waste our time attacking each other until we grow bored of it and treat each other to a drink. I'd much prefer to skip to the drinking, thank you."
You stare at her, feeling a twitch in your face that you're not quite sure you can control. "I don't think so," you say.
"Well, if you really want a challenge - because it looks as though you're no stranger to combat, and I've always preferred other pursuits - why not challenge me to a race? I might even let you set most of the terms."
You stare at her. She's a hell of a figure, when she's not slouched over a bar. Curly hair, heart-shaped face, wide hips and narrow waist under her big red coat... and right now she's staring you down, and it's a hell of a thing. If you hadn't had to deal with angry crewmen almost every day of your adult life, you might've been overwhelmed.
"Fine," you say, because you have to admit, you're curious about this Falcon of hers. "A race on the open seas. I'll let you set the startin' and endin' points, just t' show you I ain't afraid of your tricks."
"Tricks, huh?" She grins. "If I wanted to trick you, I'd come up with a better way than that, Captain." And she leans in, gives you a kiss - the shortest and lightest of kisses, the sort that's more a promise than anything else. "Are you sure you don't want to share a drink, have the race tomorrow? I can bring some very nice wine to your ship..."
"Aye, I took ye for a con woman, first time I saw ya." You let the slightest trace of a smile cross your lips. "No way yer gettin' on my ship b'fore we do this."
"Fine," she says. She doesn't miss a beat. "My ship, then. We can plan our route over some wine."
"A'right, then. I'll accept those terms." She'll probably try something, all the same. Maybe she hopes you'll forget all about the race. But you have to admit, there's something intriguing about the woman. "What's yer name, lubber?"
"It's Daryl, Captain Faris," she says, "and your reputation precedes you. I hope it's not overly exaggerated." She turns away. "I'll be waiting on the Falcon."
You shake your head as she leaves. You'll join her, right enough, but you're takin' your own wine. Can't trust a con artist, especially not a lady as winsome as that one.

Passing the Torch, FFI/FFIV, Marilith/Rubicante, PG
The warm summer moonlight had vanished, replaced by the dim light flickering in the far corners of a spacious cavern. A woman lay draped upon an altar, upon a blanket of serpent’s scales.
“Uh.”
At first, he thought her asleep upon the stones; at his approach she lifted her head and the scales beneath her shivered. She uncoiled, rising above him – a fiendish amalgamation of beauty and malevolence. And had he but coal, he would have loved to sketch the loving details on paper.
“It has been so long....” the melody of her voice wavered, and she appraised him darkly, “Do you even know what it is you hold?”
She blinked at his silence. “So be it.”
The spell of wonder broke, and self preservation set in; he reached to draw his weapons, as she reached for hers – laid ceremoniously upon the altar where she had slept. In her hands, they burst into flame.
The shadow of flight never crossed his mind; cowardice did not become him, now or ever. Instead, he charged forward, Fiend or no.
They clashed, two steel blades to a scorching six, and the fire burned within him and around him. And when he opened his eyes, under the moons and the stars and the clear greenery of the summer glade, he could taste ash. Would but Lord Golbez have warned him...
Albeit, on retrospect, trifling so with baubles of ultimate power might not have been wise, even in the heat of the moment.
