2013 KISS BATTLE!
RULES
- This year, we're creating Master Links for each fandom. When leaving prompts, please put it under the right canon! If in a compilation canon, please leave the important details!
- To leave a prompt: leave one prompt per comment, with FANDOM: CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP in the subject line and your prompt in the body.
- To leave a fill: reply to the comment in question. Please use the subject line of your comment to label your work: TITLE (if relevant), FANDOM, CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP, RATING (ANY KINKS, WARNINGS, FLAGS).
- There should be kissing! All kinds of kisses are welcome: gen, shippy, smutty, chaste, familial, friendly, angry, happy! We’re pretty open to anything you want to call kissing. We are fans of all of it.
- Fanart, fanfiction, drabbles, doodles, live action movies -- whatever you want to supply, we’d like to have it.
- Be kind to others regarding character or ship choices and prompts. This should be fun for everyone!
- Prompt early, prompt often, and leave as many as you want.
- Prompts can be filled multiple times!
- To leave a blitzkrieg kiss: If you have something but no one has prompted it yet, blitzkiss away! Just reply to the comment for your fandom, and make sure you use the subject line to label your work.
- Be sure to check back often -- new kissing action could be showing up everywhere!
- Spread the word! Tell your friends!

FINAL FANTASY KISS BATTLE 2013
We will be running the Kissing Battle on Dreamwidth only. There are two main reasons for this: 1) Dreamwidth’s comment limit is huge, allowing for longer kissing masterpieces; and 2) Dreamwidth still supports subject lines for comments, which are vital to a meme like the Kiss Battle. However, the Battle is open to everyone. Feel free to participate with your Dreamwidth (account creation is invite-free right now~!), your Livejournal or other OpenID account (see here if you want to set up an OpenID), or anonymously.
Have fun! Get smoochin'!

Recovery (Wakka/Lulu/Luzzu, PG)
Wakka shook his head. "He blames himself. We both know what that's like, ya?"
"Yes." Lulu lowered her eyes. As she so often did, she wished Chappu were here. He would have known what to say, just the right words to make Luzzu smile again. Still, she had to try. "I don't think he should be alone."
"Me neither. C'mon." Wakka picked his way through the rocks to Luzzu's side, and Lulu followed. Luzzu didn't seem to notice them at first; not until Wakka cleared his throat did he set down the water and start to scramble to his feet. Wakka stilled him with a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, you're taking it easy, remember?" Luzzu paused, nodded, then dropped back to the ground with a heavy sigh, hands resting on his knees; his knuckles were scraped and raw from the pounding he had given to the temple walls. Wakka sat next to him, and after moving the dinner tray aside, Lulu took a place on his other side, shifting her skirts as she settled on the ground.
"Did Yuna receive the Aeon?" Luzzu looked to Lulu, who nodded, and then leaned his head back against the wall. "Good. May she succeed where the Crusaders failed and rid the world of this scourge. The right way, the way Yevon taught us. Even if it means she--" His mouth tightened, and he brought a hand up to pinch his nose; when he spoke again, his voice was thick with grief. "Dammit! Damn Sin, and everything it takes from us!"
Lulu let a gentle hand fall on his knee, and he turned to her with red-rimmed eyes. "And that's why Yuna fights," she said. "Why the Crusaders fight. And those of us left behind..." She lifted her face to his and kissed him, softly on the cheek. "We get through it, together. Like we always have."
"Listen to Lu, eh?" Wakka shifted and put an arm around Luzzu's shoulders. Luzzu lowered his head, and a few tears slid down his cheeks, leaving fresh trails to join the dry ones. "She knows what she's talking about."
"I-- I know." Luzzu drew his hands down his face to wipe it clean. "Thank you. And I'm sorry. You must have other duties."
"Nah." Wakka waved off his concern. "Yuna is helping the healers, Tidus turned in early, and Sir Auron is standing guard. Nothing he can't handle. Besides, someone's gotta keep an eye on you." He leaned over and kissed Luzzu's temple, then ruffled his hair. "Keep you outta trouble."
Luzzu almost smiled. "Now that you know I need watching?"
"Yup." Wakka grinned, although Lulu still read grief in his eyes, for losses both old and new. "Like a hawk."
"I've asked myself a lot of questions today. Most of them don't have answers yet. But I know one thing." Luzzu put an arm around Lulu's back and hugged her into his side. "You're right, Wakka. I should go home to Besaid and recover from my wounds. All of them." He grimaced. "I wish you would, too, but I understand why you can't." He paused, then sighed. "At least you're here tonight." He turned first to Wakka and kissed him, swift and hard on the lips, and then he kissed Lulu, more gently, bringing a hand to her cheek, his other tightening against her shoulder.
A surprise, but not an unpleasant one. Lulu took a moment to sink into the kiss, to accept the soft lips caressing hers, warm and alive, the opposite of the death that surrounded them all. She hadn't been kissed like this in so long, too long, not since--
Chappu's face drifted across her mind's eye and she had to break away; Luzzu's hand trailed down her cheek as he pulled back, too. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't..."
"It's all right." Lulu leaned against his side, a wordless invitation to put his arm around her again. She looked over Luzzu at Wakka; he caught her eye, then nodded. It was all right. Maybe the most "all right" in a long time. "We won't leave you. Not tonight."
"C'mere." Wakka pulled Luzzu into a sideways hug, and Luzzu let his head fall to pillow against Wakka's broad chest. Wakka leaned his head on Luzzu's; Lulu considered at them for a moment before snuggling into Luzzu's warm embrace. The three of them, together against the world one last time, letting the old wound they shared finally start to heal.

FFX: Lulu/Yuna
Reflections (Lulu/Yuna, PG)
"How can I bear it?" Yuna whispers to her in the night: and Lulu remembers the brave, triumphant, gleaming beacon-smile Yuna gave the entire populace of Besaid and thinks, sister, not-sister, you are like and unlike me in ways you don't yet know.
"Bear what?" she asks, because she is cruel as well as kind.
"Their eyes," Yuna says. "They're all looking at me like I'm... like I'm the next Lord Braska," and Lulu's heart twists, because Yuna has never called her father naught but Da to Lulu's ears.
"My lady," Lulu says, and she raises herself up on an elbow to look down at Yuna: in her lady's eyes she sees skies and eternities; this is not the first time she has viewed Valefor's wings through a mortal's eyes and in her own bed. "Yuna," she says then, because the glassy separation is something she cannot bear: and Yuna breaks, and gasp-sobs, and throws her arms about Lulu's neck.
The kiss is warm, and somewhat messy - Yuna may not know what she is doing, but youth and need make up for much, and Lulu finds herself pulling her not-sister even closer, trying to impart messages with lips and tongue that her mouth and throat don't dare to give.
"Don't leave me," Yuna says, and Lulu doesn't know - doesn't dare ask - what Yuna is asking.
"Of course not," she says, because the answer has always been the same: and she lets Yuna draw her down again.

FFX: Jecht/Auron
FFX, Jecht/Auron, PG
They don't have time for this, but it's not like that's ever stopped Jecht before, Auron notes to himself. The other guard is standing waist-deep in the bright waters that lap at the Besaid coastline, idly tossing a blitzball between his hands. Auron isn't sure where Jecht has gotten the ball, although he supposes any of the shiny-eyed young boys who have gathered to listen to him boast about his former career might've had one to lend him. Lord Braska is on the pier, waiting for the next ship while he speaks in quiet tones to one of the elder priests.
Auron, too, was waiting quietly -- not making a fool of himself like someone else he could speak of. He turns away from Jecht, from his sun-darkened bare chest and white-flash smile, instead letting his eyes rest on his summoner who manages to look both unperturbed by the balmy heat despite his ceremonial garb.
Then something knocks into the back of his head. Auron doesn't even need to turn and glare out across the water to know that it was the ball Jecht held; he doesn't need to turn to see the unrepentant grin, either, but he does and even in his annoyance, he can be amazed by the life in Jecht, the one that always reminds him that his friend is from another world. Sin has long since taken that kind of reckless abandon out of those who under its penance.
"Jecht," he says aloud, reproachfully.
Jecht shrugs. "You might like it if you try it," he suggests, tossing the ball up in the air and catching it. He's still grinning. "Wanna give it a try?"
No, he thinks, of course not. But his hands aren't obeying because he's stripping off his armlet and his sword, shrugging out of his red coat. Before he's even really realized that he's given in, again, he's standing in the waters himself, facing Jecht. "Well?" he asks himself, crossing his arms. "What do I do now?"
"You could at least look like you want to," Jecht advises with another toss of the ball. Auron's watching its arc through the air, so he almost misses that Jecht follows it up with a great leap. "And you can think fast!"
Jecht sends the ball racing toward him and Auron lifts his arms by instinct, ready to block the ball. But he never gets a chance because something hard and heavy connects with him -- Jecht -- sending them down under the water with a great splash. Despite the bright sun of the day, under the waves is cool and dim, the sun a far off shimmer. But Auron can barely register any of that because Jecht's still wrapped around him and Auron can't tell if his jerky movements are to get to air or to get away from Jecht's strong, sure hold.
Auron feels something cold but solid touch his face and he opens his eyes to see that it's Jecht, watching him with an intense gaze, dark eyes sad in a way that is usually too fleeting to register. Auron doesn't know why but he grips Jecht's shoulders and Jecht must take it for some kind of sign because then Jecht's lips are on his, rough and wet, followed by the scratch of beard against Auron's shaven cheek.
Auron doesn't pull away; he doesn't let go, either, but he holds still for just a second, long enough for Jecht to pull away and give him a look. It's an expressive look, one that asks a question. Auron would take a deep breath if he weren't under the water, but he contents himself with the thought of a bracing breath before he surges forward and kisses back, holding on as Jecht kicks his legs and powers them to the surface.
They're still kissing as they come up, the bright sun blinding after the brief respite. When Auron hears the din of murmurs from the shore, he tries to pull away but Jecht doesn't let him get far.
"Not too bad," Jecht says, and that grin is there, but somehow Auron doesn't mind because it seems that he's missed all this time that it's for him. "But a little practice might be in order."
Auron pushes Jecht back beneath the water before he wades toward the shore, somehow both annoyed and delighted.

FFX: Yunalesca/Zaon
Union, Yunalesca/Zaon, PG-13 (Warning for blood, character death)
He catches her hand, presses a kiss to the back of her fingers. "We will succeed," he tells her. "Have faith. I will always be with you."
She nods and lays out the last items, then steps back. She has bathed already, as has he; she strips to the skin and he does likewise, her mirror and her completion.
"I promised you forever, 'Lesca," he says. "I will not forget."
Zaon stands in the center of the circle, and she feels her blood stir at the sight of him, as it always has. As she promised it always would.
She anoints him with oil and holy water, and herself with the mirrored sigils. They both drink deep of the bitter potion she has brewed, and she gags on the taste of sage. He splutters a little and makes a face like she's burned dinner again (she was never a very good cook.) It makes her laugh, and that makes this seem less terrifying, especially when he laughs as well.
The last step of the ritual stops her laughter cold. The knife is heavy and cold in her hand. Zaon meets her eyes steadily, and keeps his hands loose at his side. He knows, and he does not try to stop her. He suggested it.
She has to close her eyes. She cannot do so and succeed.
She takes a deep breath and drives the dagger into his heart; even as his blood spills hot and red on her hands, she pulls it out and drives it into her own. They fall to the floor together, their blood mixing, and the pain is so great she can scarcely think. She cannot breathe. Her lungs are heavy and she is drowning in her own blood.
The word of power that drives a spell has never been so hard to say. Her lips shape it and her vocal cords tear as she speaks it.
She finds herself, naked and bloody like a newborn babe, curled in the protective arms of a statue. Zaon hums within her, his spirit a support and a comfort as he has always been. Such power cannot be borne for long, and she knows that setting it free will destroy her utterly, but to defeat Yu Yevon, she would do anything.
Even sacrifice Zaon.
She presses her lips to the cold stone of the statue, feeling Zaon's love wrap around her. Naked, she leaves her apartments, and strides through the streets of Zanarkand with war-paint made of her husband's blood. Naked, without so much as a staff or a ring, she faces Yu Yevon. She tears him apart and sends his soul in a seething maelstrom of magic that destroys the city along with them both, and lets herself collapse at last.
Some time later, she rises, an Unsent. Only Zaon's statue appears to have survived the battle intact. She drags it, inch by painful inch, to the heart of the ruined city. Above her, pyreflies start to coalesce into a giant being.
She has succeeded, and she has failed--but there will be others. She told the priests of her intention, and they took their leader Zaon at his word when he assured them that it would stop Yu Yevon.
Yunalesca climbs up the statue to curl up in Zaon's arms, and presses a kiss to his lips. Without him inside her to give the statue life, the stone is only stone, and cold against her lips.
Forever never seemed so short.
