2013 KISS BATTLE!
RULES
- This year, we're creating Master Links for each fandom. When leaving prompts, please put it under the right canon! If in a compilation canon, please leave the important details!
- To leave a prompt: leave one prompt per comment, with FANDOM: CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP in the subject line and your prompt in the body.
- To leave a fill: reply to the comment in question. Please use the subject line of your comment to label your work: TITLE (if relevant), FANDOM, CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP, RATING (ANY KINKS, WARNINGS, FLAGS).
- There should be kissing! All kinds of kisses are welcome: gen, shippy, smutty, chaste, familial, friendly, angry, happy! We’re pretty open to anything you want to call kissing. We are fans of all of it.

FINAL FANTASY KISS BATTLE 2013
We will be running the Kissing Battle on Dreamwidth only. There are two main reasons for this: 1) Dreamwidth’s comment limit is huge, allowing for longer kissing masterpieces; and 2) Dreamwidth still supports subject lines for comments, which are vital to a meme like the Kiss Battle. However, the Battle is open to everyone. Feel free to participate with your Dreamwidth (account creation is invite-free right now~!), your Livejournal or other OpenID account (see here if you want to set up an OpenID), or anonymously.

Sunrise (Sazh & Vanille, PG)
He doesn't expect it.
Sazh has been up all night: Gran Pulse is a strange place, and the sounds make his nightmares broad and encompassing, worlds in which he can wander for days without finding Dajh -- he'll take being awake, thank you very much, with the firm feel of his girls strapped to his thighs and maybe he's a little tired the next day but that's why they invented potions, isn't it? Sazh is tired of being tired; but he's tired of sleeping too, because all the strangeness makes him miss his son, and he can't really deal with that much.
"Are you waiting for the white flash?" she chirps behind him.
Vanille: they've talked, but oh, they haven't really talked since before Brynhildr, since before the fire, since before the guns: Sazh is A Plus Plus One Hundred Percent Great at avoidance, because it's how he has lived this whole life, and it's sitting there now between them, hovering like an untorn bomb. He's afraid to look at it, because he's afraid to tear it open with the weight of his gaze: there's forgiveness and there isn't; there's grace and there's blame.
"What's the white flash?" he asks, 'cause that seems safe enough.
"On Gran Pulse," she says, coming to sit beside him, and her voice is soft - softer than it should be; soft like people who want something - "when somebody really wants something, they sit up all night and wait for the sun to come up. And when it does, you have to look, but you can't look too close -- like you do with something you want real bad," and her voice is tangible, all the things in it that Sazh hears but doesn't want to.
"Yeah," he says, because she seems to want something.
"And once the sun breaks the horizon," Vanille continues, and her voice sounds a little like tears, "if you see a bright flash of white, it means that -- I don't know, Pulse, or maybe Etro or somebody, that you'll get your wish."
Sazh swallows against a sudden barrier. "Vanille," he begins--- but the sun is cresting over the ragged edges of Gran Pulse, bright and sharp like a knife - both the sun and the world - and Sazh waits, his breath in his throat, and he can't tell whether it's a white flash he sees or if it's the reflection of his own tears as he closes his eyes.
"Sazh," Vanille begins, a response: and Sazh pulls her close in a hug.
"No," he says, his lips pressing against her hair: the crown of her head, her temple, her cheekbone. "It's alright," he says, as her own lips brush his throat, his cheek, the corner of his mouth: they are like a flash of white in themselves. "Don't," he says, and he's pretty sure he's asking her not to say it, because there ain't no white flash that can ever face that down.
Vanille snuggles up against him, and he rests his chin on her head, and somehow his hand intertwines with hers as the sun crests above Gran Pulse.
