AO3 slowdowns and commenting on gifts

As you may have noticed while trying to see and comment on your gift, the AO3 is having some issues with 502s. We know this is likely causing some anxiety -- both for people waiting to comment and people waiting to hear if their recipient liked their gift! -- so we wanted to reach out with some assurances.
The Accessibility, Design & Technology committee who builds the archive had provided an update on the problems which you can read at http://transformativeworks.org/ao3-performance-issues. If you're getting a lot of 502s, it's always better to try again at a different time. Peak times on the archive are evenings in the United States. Here is a time and date link to show the time spread when the archive will be the least available in your area (for today; extrapolate to other days, of course!): http://timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20120607T23&ah=9
The demand on the archive is greatest during the first four hours of that spread. During these times, you may get lucky and be able to access the archive, but it will be hit or miss. If you continue to get 502s after refreshing, just try again at a later time.
