Yes, it's happening! Right here and right now! :D

We are still considering our availability and options for running a full exchange sometime this year, and we'll keep you posted on any future developments. In the meantime, we wanted to bring back the Kiss Battle: it's a tradition, and really fun!

Since we aren't doing the Chocobo Races this year, there are no teams and no points. However, we will give a shout-out to the top five contributors, with special recognition to the person who creates kisses for the most canons. :)

RULES

All prompts will be organized by fandom, using Master Links. When leaving prompts, please put it under the right canon! If in a compilation canon, please include the important details!

To leave a prompt: leave one prompt per comment, with FANDOM: CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP in the subject line and your prompt in the body.

To leave a fill: reply to the comment in question. Please use the subject line of your comment to label your work: TITLE (if relevant), FANDOM, CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP, RATING (ANY KINKS, WARNINGS, FLAGS).

There should be kissing! All kinds of kisses are welcome: gen, shippy, smutty, chaste, familial, friendly, angry, happy! We’re pretty open to anything you want to call kissing. We are fans of all of it.

Fanart, fanfiction, drabbles, doodles, live action movies -- whatever you want to supply, we’d like to have it.

Be kind to others regarding character or ship choices and prompts. This should be fun for everyone!

FINAL FANTASY KISS BATTLE 2016

We will be running the Kiss Battle on Dreamwidth only. There are two main reasons for this: 1) Dreamwidth’s comment limit is huge, allowing for longer kissing masterpieces; and 2) Dreamwidth still supports subject lines for comments, which are vital to a meme like the Kiss Battle. However, the Battle is open to everyone. Feel free to participate with your Dreamwidth (account creation is invite-free right now~!), your Livejournal or other OpenID account (see here if you want to set up an OpenID), or anonymously.

The door opens a little too quietly after the crash outside, which makes it notable. Tifa tucks the bar rag onto its hook and reaches for her gloves, but then she sees who it is, and relaxes. She doesn't know why Cloud, Reno, and Rude, of all people, showed up together, but they're walking side by side and no one seems to be looking for a fight, so she smiles at the woman in front of her and pours another beer. She scoops up the gil the woman drops with a murmured thanks, and moves down the bar to where they're leaning at the far end.

She knows what they drink, and it never changes. Cloud waves at her and walks on past, up to the apartments above the bar, and Tifa mixes Reno's margarita heavy on the tequila and salt. Rude likes his whiskey neat.

The gil they set down far exceeds the cost of their drinks, and Tifa rocks back on her heels, fists on her hips, and gives them a disapproving look. She should've known.

"Don't look at me," Reno drawls, hands up, unable to hide the smirk. "It was his idea."

Rude removes his sunglasses to reveal the vanishing traces of what must have been an impressive start to a black eye before Cure magic got involved, and hooks them on his jacket.

Tifa looks back at Reno. He sighs heavily and shrugs. "What can I say? One of your neighbors didn't like the cut of my suit." He fingers the dark-blue fabric. "You're gonna need some repairs on your porch."

"And the neighbor?" she inquires.

"Asleep," Rude says.

"He'll wake up in the morning, none the worse," Reno adds.

Tifa thinks it over. The area outside her bar is safe because Cloud keeps it that way, and everyone knows the house rules. The guy might have a hangover without the booze—strong Sleep spells will do that—but nobody's going to rough him up more or pick his pocket.

She leans across the bar and presses a kiss to Rude's temple above the fading bruise. He clears his throat and works to keep his expression neutral, so she winks at him as she gathers their contribution to the repair fund.

"Don't I get one?" Reno demands. "He got me too." He gestures to a fading splot of yellowing bruise on his jaw.

"No," Tifa says, and who would have thought three years ago that she'd be laughing with ShinRa's Turks in her bar? But she is, and they are, and she holds the feeling of relief close and safe against her heart. This is her normal now, and she likes it.
