There should be kissing! All kinds of kisses are welcome: gen, shippy, smutty, chaste, familial, friendly, angry, happy! We’re pretty open to anything you want to call kissing. We are fans of all of it.

Fanart, fanfiction, drabbles, doodles, live action movies -- whatever you want to supply, we’d like to have it.

Be kind to others regarding character or ship choices and prompts. This should be fun for everyone!

We will be running the Kissing Battle on Dreamwidth only. There are two main reasons for this: 1) Dreamwidth’s comment limit is huge, allowing for longer kissing masterpieces; and 2) Dreamwidth still supports subject lines for comments, which are vital to a meme like the Kiss Battle. However, the Battle is open to everyone. Feel free to participate with your Dreamwidth (account creation is invite-free right now~!), your Livejournal or other OpenID account (see here if you want to set up an OpenID), or anonymously.

She's already rolling her eyes at herself as the idea pops inter her head; a tired trick of cheesy movies and the trashy spy novels her sister used to like. But it would take them off the road, hide faces, hide defining features of clothing. Before them is nothing but the wide stretch of the throughway, brightly lit and right now poorly trafficked. Behind them, around the corner, voices and pounding steps of several people who wouldn't mind their blood on their clothes ricochet.

Behind her, she can hear him breathing, steady and controlled, right at her back even though he could leave her behind without trying, and that snaps her decision into place. A few yards in front of them, the light is out at one of the off-streets. In a jagged, if efficient motion, she grabs a fistful of Reno's jacket and slams them both around the corner.

“ 'Lena what the-” His back hits the bricks and she stumbles against him, one of his arms wraps tight around her back, an automatic, protective gesture. She uses it to press herself closer into the shadow she's found.

She has to stand up on her toes to reach his mouth.

She hadn't planned to push her tongue past his teeth; sliding smooth over sharp incisors, breath hot and stuttering in her throat, or his. But his lips had parted when she'd crashed hers against them, another cut off question, and he'd let her, so she did. Sealed together like this they are only two more small dark things slid into a small dark place. Back on the street the footsteps that had been so close on their heels echo past the alley, and fade. They had certainly been seen, in peripheries, but only as a flashed-familiar silhouette and movement. Part of the slum scenery. Dismissed.

She counts the voices and the sets of feet as they pass-three, four, five pursuers. And as soon as she doesn't have to listen anymore she gets her hands in his hair, grips hard. She hadn't planned that either but it's surprisingly soft, and it feels good in her fists.

When she pulls back his eyes are dark and breath ragged in a way that's still more the chase than the kiss, and she knows she looks the same.
It only takes a heartbeat for the familiar grin to split across his face, lopsided and hungry.

“Fuck rookie. You wanted something, you coulda just said.”

“Don't call me 'rookie'.”

In this part of the slums, the air thrums heavy with rust and mako runnoff. Somewhere further down the alley, something metal hits ground, sends rats scurrying. She honestly doesn't care.

“Whatever you say.”

This time, when he pulls her back into him, warm and alive and thrumming adrenaline still, she is planning on it.

Whoa, this is beautiful - tense, tightly-paced, and gritty in a way that really suits the Turks and their city. Absolutely perfect.
