Final Fantasy Kissing Battle 2014

RULES

• All prompts will be organized by fandom, using Master Links. When leaving prompts, please put it under the right canon! If in a compilation canon, please include the important details!


• To leave a prompt: leave one prompt per comment, with FANDOM: CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP in the subject line and your prompt in the body.


• To leave a fill: reply to the comment in question. Please use the subject line of your comment to label your work: TITLE (if relevant), FANDOM, CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP, RATING (ANY KINKS, WARNINGS, FLAGS).


• There should be kissing! All kinds of kisses are welcome: gen, shippy, smutty, chaste, familial, friendly, angry, happy! We’re pretty open to anything you want to call kissing. We are fans of all of it.


• Fanart, fanfiction, drabbles, doodles, live action movies -- whatever you want to supply, we’d like to have it.


• Be kind to others regarding character or ship choices and prompts. This should be fun for everyone!


• Prompt early, prompt often, and leave as many as you want.


• Prompts can be filled multiple times!

We will be running the Kissing Battle on Dreamwidth only. There are two main reasons for this: 1) Dreamwidth’s comment limit is huge, allowing for longer kissing masterpieces; and 2) Dreamwidth still supports subject lines for comments, which are vital to a meme like the Kiss Battle. However, the Battle is open to everyone. Feel free to participate with your Dreamwidth (account creation is invite-free right now~!), your Livejournal or other OpenID account (see here if you want to set up an OpenID), or anonymously.

It's been far more than a year since the world ended. Closer to two, probably. They'd landed for the night a good distance away, but the shape of Kefka's Tower over the horizon loomed closer than ever. Tomorrow they'd be climbing it to try and finish things for good.

Locke had found Celes deep in the bowels of the Falcon, and with the airship grounded, the usual roar of the engines didn't fill the long silences between them. Conversation between the two rarely came easily; Celes offered up little and Locke talked too much, but today even the chatty treasure hunter was having trouble finding his words.

Finally, abruptly, he reaches out, taking her hand and smiling, despite himself. “If I do something stupid, are you gonna knock me off of the platform?”

The gesture seems to surprise her, and she looks up. He's close and it's probably not hard to guess what he has in mind, thanks to the dumb grin on his face. He's always been rather transparent, “I wouldn't want to take you out of commission before the big fight.”

“Very strategic of you,” He pulls her closer, moving his hand from her wrist to the back of her neck. Like usual he's quick and deliberate when he moves. Not so much giving her a kiss in the end as stealing one. It's only a brief moment before he breaks it, “Might I take this moment to point out that I've always admired a woman of her word?”

She chuckles softly against his lips, and for the first time in the evening, she wasn't thinking about what was to come tomorrow and the days after, “Well if you're worried about me changing my mind, you better make it worth it,” And she reaches up to grab the collar of his jacket and pulling him into another kiss. Her's was decisive and deliberate.

Surprised, Locke makes an inelegant noise. He'd been quick, but not out of lack of enthusiasm. He cared for Celes. Maybe even loved her, as Rachel had known well before he was ready to admit it to himself. But he'd been too afraid, too caught up in the past and all his guilt to let himself get this close to anyone in years. It actually takes him a moment or two of shock before rising to meet her. Still bittersweet, but instead of being crippled by his guilt, it's all the more important to him that Celes is there, and real. Life and the living.

When she finally broke the kiss, all he could get out was a breathless, “Wow.”

Even if she does decide to shove him off the platform for it later, it's worth it.
