October Chocobo Races - "Gen and Friend" Prompt Post!

October's theme is Gen and Friend Month, but if you can't find the perfect prompt in our existing Chocobo Down database, here is a post where you can leave new prompts and look for ideas.

Please leave your prompts for Gen and Friend Month here - anyone can prompt, anyone can fill!

To leave a prompt:
  • Please put the canon and character(s) in the subject of the comment. FFVI: Edgar & Sabin, or FFVII (OGC): Cid, or FFVIII: Rinoa and Quistis are examples.

  • Leave the details of your prompt in the comment. "Anything goes" usually isn't as helpful as you'd think - even if it's true! - so please try to add some optional details or ideas for people who might want a pointer. Since this is Gen and Friend month, it's a chance for you to focus on friendships you've always wanted to explore, epic adventures you'd love to see sketched out, rivalries you think could use some color -- anything goes!

  • Since this is Gen and Friend month, we would prefer that prompts not be focused on pairings/relationships.

I am interested in gen stuff about the Eidolons being friends or enemies or whatever with characters other than Rydia! Luca, Edward, Golbez, or any of the other mages (especially Tellah) would be my top picks.

Post-game, Lightning gets Sazh a babysitter (maybe Serah and Snow?) and takes him out for a night of grown-up fun. Since it's Lightning, I'm guessing it involves weapons and very little chit-chat, but her heart's in the right place.

I'd like to see a growing friendship between these two, whether it's in-game or after - doesn't matter to me. There's that giant gaping issue (the Empire, Cyan's family, Doma, Kefka) between them, but I'd love to see them growing past this and coming to understand each other.

I'd love to see a compare/contrast about the things that are similar and different between them, their harder and softer sides. They've both grown up with the sword, in a military role, and probably never expected to be anything but a soldier/warrior -- and yet they've played these softer roles (Cyan's letters and silken flowers; Celes at the opera) and played them well. These things bring them closer despite themselves.

I'd like to see the dastardly exciting adventures of Rinoa and Irvine. SERIOUSLY. Whether it's them off on missions together (whether they're SeeDs on official Garden missions, trying to qualify, or working privately is totally up to you - although I'll say right here I'd love to see something where they're unofficially sent to retrieve Seifer and there is fallout), messing with Squall, Selphie, and the others, or maybe just tearing up the seediest clubs and shittiest bars in Deling City (because you know they're both funny drunks and good dancers) -- whatever it is, buddy fic for this totally overlooked awesome friendship plz.

Your rhyme is always so flawless and a pleasure to read. I really love the melody in this one, almost reminds me of a pirate song with the flow and words you chose. Nicely done!
