(this is not exactly what you asked for! BUT IT'S P. CLOSE.)

"You look perfect," Ellone said, turning Squall away from the mirror. "Stop fidgeting." She pulled the mess of his tie loose and began fixing it.
Squall frowned at her. "I could do it."
"Or you could make it worse. How did you manage to mess it up this bad?"
"Laguna tried to fix it," Squall said. "He started crying halfway through and left." There's no judgment in his voice anymore; the years smoothing away the edges of resentment and confusion. It filled her with joy to hear the lack of it, especially today.
"Never let him near a tie." Ellone finished her work and adjusted the collar of Squall's dark dress shirt. A lot of people had been determined to make him wear his dress blues, but Ellone and Quistis had managed to block them off so he didn't just give in to make people stop talking at him. It had been the right decision; in the uniform he got to hide. Now, he looked like what a was -- a young man on the verge of a wedding years in the making.
"I feel ridiculous," Squall said.
"You're handsome as ever," she replied. "Not prettier than Rinoa, though. Sorry."
He smiled; it changed his whole face. "I'm a little nervous." The admission startled her; Squall still hoarded his feelings to all but Rinoa.
"Well, in an hour you'll be married and Laguna will be making noises about babies," she said.
Squall rolled his eyes. "Last time he asked Rinoa about it she made him float and he was stuck on the ceiling of his office for an hour."
"Okay," she said. "So maybe he'll be subtle about it."
Squall snorted.
There was a knock at the door; Laguna pushed it open. His eyes were red; Ellone smiled. "It's time, kids. Everyone ready?"
"I fixed his tie," Ellone said. "How are you still so bad at them?"
"I have Kiros for that!" Laguna said, and vanished through the door again. "Chop chop! Wedding bells! And cake! There's like four cakes."
Ellen turned back to Squall and looked up at him. "Four cakes."
Squall sighed deeply, and looked so put out that Ellone leaned up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. He blinked as she pulled away. "Elle?"
"Congratulations," she said, and held out an arm. "Let's go get you married."
