"Drat!" Queen Garnet Til Alexandros cursed mildly (and bit back several stronger oaths she'd learned from General Beatrix) as her quill, for the fifth time that day, slipped from her fingers. She started to reach under the desk, then cursed, this time in language that might have even caused Beatrix's eyebrows to lift (at least coming from her liege-lady as opposed to the barracks) as her voluminous robes caught on the edge of the desk, and wished for her old traveling clothes again.
"Looking for something?" A curly blond tail, bearing the missing quill, poked up over the edge of the desk, deposited the offending instrument next to the parchment she'd been about to sign, and proceeded to detach her skirts from the furniture.
Her frustrations forgotten, Garnet laughed helplessly as she looked up to meet her beloved consort's eyes. "That's handy." She couldn't help but smirk a little, raising an eyebrow, as she added in blatant invitation, "What else can you do with that?"
Zidane's impish grin, she reflected, hadn't changed a bit from when she'd first met him--- and she wouldn't have it any other way. "Care to find out, Your Majesty?" he asked, curling it around her wrist so that the tip nestled in her palm.
Garnet laughed again, and couldn't resist the urge to capture the soft fur in her fingers and tug him close. "I'd be delighted," she said, just before their lips met.
