Final Fantasy Kiss Battle 2016!!

Yes, it's happening! Right here and right now! :D

We are still considering our availability and options for running a full exchange sometime this year, and we'll keep you posted on any future developments. In the meantime, we wanted to bring back the Kiss Battle: it's a tradition, and really fun!

Since we aren't doing the Chocobo Races this year, there are no teams and no points. However, we will give a shout-out to the top five contributors, with special recognition to the person who creates kisses for the most canons. :)

Final Fantasy Kiss Battle 2016

RULES
  • All prompts will be organized by fandom, using Master Links. When leaving prompts, please put it under the right canon! If in a compilation canon, please include the important details!

  • To leave a prompt: leave one prompt per comment, with FANDOM: CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP in the subject line and your prompt in the body.

  • To leave a fill: reply to the comment in question. Please use the subject line of your comment to label your work: TITLE (if relevant), FANDOM, CHARACTERS/RELATIONSHIP, RATING (ANY KINKS, WARNINGS, FLAGS).

  • There should be kissing! All kinds of kisses are welcome: gen, shippy, smutty, chaste, familial, friendly, angry, happy! We’re pretty open to anything you want to call kissing. We are fans of all of it.

  • Fanart, fanfiction, drabbles, doodles, live action movies -- whatever you want to supply, we’d like to have it.

  • Be kind to others regarding character or ship choices and prompts. This should be fun for everyone!

  • Prompt early, prompt often, and leave as many as you want.

  • Prompts can be filled multiple times!

  • To leave a blitzkrieg kiss: If you have something but no one has prompted it yet, blitzkiss away! Just reply to the comment for your fandom, and make sure you use the subject line to label your work.

  • Be sure to check back often -- new kissing action could be showing up everywhere!

  • Spread the word! Tell your friends!

FINAL FANTASY KISS BATTLE 2016

We will be running the Kiss Battle on Dreamwidth only. There are two main reasons for this: 1) Dreamwidth’s comment limit is huge, allowing for longer kissing masterpieces; and 2) Dreamwidth still supports subject lines for comments, which are vital to a meme like the Kiss Battle. However, the Battle is open to everyone. Feel free to participate with your Dreamwidth (account creation is invite-free right now~!), your Livejournal or other OpenID account (see here if you want to set up an OpenID), or anonymously.

Have fun! Get smoochin'!

FINAL FANTASY IV (original or FFIVA): Kain, (Lunar) Bahamut

Kain, (Lunar) Bahamut -- anything really goes, but hey, scales and interesting species combo are a possibility here ~ How smooth is Bahamut's hide, or does it matter? What about doppleganger issues, if Lunar Bahamut?

Kain fell.

His spear carved into the dragon-god's hide. the edge finding the path between the heavy scales and slicing through, through to the rich, dark flesh beneath. He hit bone somewhere around the bottom of the neck - couldn't be sure, sweat and tension in his eyes, could hardly see - and didn't shift fast enough, the momentum driving him into the wall of bladed iron scales, a hammer-blow that reverberated through his entire body and carved deep gashes into his face to match the claw marks on his arm. Lunar Bahamut roared and shook him off like a horse would shake off a fly; Kain flew into the cave wall - another bone-jarring impact - and slid to the ground.

He wasn't getting up again. He couldn't do this alone. He needed Rosa's magic, Cecil's blade, Rydia's summons, even Edge's ninja tricks, anything, he couldn't do this alone-

He never should have come here, never should have challenged the god of dragons. Dragoons flew in imitation of the great dragons, their mastery of the sky a favor granted by Bahamut himself. Challenging even this strange cave's specter - blasphemy. He wasn't even a good Dragoon, a murderer in his heart, cursed by jealousy, he'd die here and it was for the best, never seeing Cecil and Rosa again, never having to look them in the eye with the knowledge of what he really was, would always be in the back of his mind...

Lunar Bahamut's foot pressed him to the ground, the huge claws digging deep into earth and flesh alike. His armour creaked under the strain and his body creaked with it. Kain's vision was filled with the great god's mouth, his mouth filled with sharp spear-teeth, ready to swallow Kain whole.

Kain was ready for that.

Lunar Bahamut leaned down closer, until his mouth pressed gently against Kain's face. The surprisingly soft lips parted, just enough to lick away the sweat and blood, like a mother cat cleaning her litter.

Your arm is strong, stronger than any dragoon I have known. Lunar Bahamut's voice was thunder above him, a deep rumble Kain could barely understand. It is your heart that is weak. But you have shown strength here. I bless you, dragoon of Baron.

The claws lifted then, the tongue giving one last cleansing lick. Kain tried to follow, but couldn't sit up, couldn't even move for the pain settling throughout his body. His arms felt heavy, weighed down with armour beyond his strength. Above him Lunar Bahamut shifted and dissolved into moondust, falling in a slow, covering rain. Take the lance. Come back when you have surpassed it.

And it was over, the bloodstained lance glowing with an unholy light until Kain slowly, inchingly, dragged himself over to take it.
